Dr Matti S Aapro is President of the Multinational Association for Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC). He is also Executive Director, International Society for Geriatric Oncology (SIOG), Dean of the Multidisciplinary Oncology Institute, Genolier, and Consultant, Division of Oncology, University Hospital Geneva. He is a member of the Board of the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) and chairs the EORTC Cancer in the Elderly Task Force.

Richard N Atkins MD
President and CEO, National Prostate Cancer Coalition (NPCC)
Richard N Atkins, MD, is President and CEO of the National Prostate Cancer Coalition (NPCC), adding to his prior six-year responsibilitiy as Vice Chair of its board of directors. Following five years in Southern California at the helm of Cap CURE, the Association for the Cure of Cancer of the Prostate, in 1999, he founded CaP CURE?s Government Research Initiatives Group in Washington, DC, dedicated to rapidly increasing government sponsorship of sound prostate cancer research and optimal cancer public policy. He was recruited into the New York City government in 1990 and, as Deputy Commissioner of Health,was also part of the core team that created primary care medical homes for all children in the city (the Communicare initiative, 1991). Dr Atkins was tenured Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at New York Medical College and Academic Chief of Service in child and adolescent psychiatry at the college?s affiliated hospitals in Manhattan, Bronx, and Westchester counties. He is the author of more than 100 scholarly presentations and publications.

Professor Ahmed Awada is Head of the Medical Oncology Clinic at the Jules Bordet Institute, Brussels. He is a member of the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer, the Belgium Society of Medical Oncology, the European Society of Medical Oncology, and the American Society of Medical Oncology. He was the recipient of the award from the Marc Hurard Foundation in 1996, and received the Docteur Maurice Godin-Maria Savelkoul award 1998 to 2000 from the Medicine Royal Academy. Professor Awada is widely published in numerous peer-reviewed publications.

Monica Castiglione RNC-NP
CEO, International Breast Cancer Study Group (IBCSG)
Monica Castiglione is CEO of the International Breast Cancer Study Group (IBCSG). She is Professor of Oncology at the University of Bern and Consultant Physician at the Inselspital, and directs the Coordinating Center of the Swiss Institute for Applied Cancer Research and Her main fields of expertise and interest are breast cancer and the conduct of clinical trials, particularly large phase III trials. She has published more than 90 papers in peerreviewed journals. Professor Castiglione is a member of several national and international committees and societies and is Treasurer in the board of directors of the Breast International Group (BIG) in Brussels. She graduated from the University of Bern in 1975 and completed her postgraduate education in medical oncology at the same university.
Nelson J Chao MD, MBA

Nelson Chao, MD, MBA, is Professor of Medicine and Immunology and Chief of the Division of Cellular Therapy/Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) at Duke University. He then joined the faculty at Stanford University. He was the Associate Director of Stem Cell Transplantation at Stanford University prior to moving to Duke University in 1996. He is the author of over 100 peer-reviewed papers, 25 book chapters and one book. He is also a co-founder of Stemco Biomedical, a start-up biotechnology company in Research Triangle Park. He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University, his MD from Yale University, and his post-graduate training at Stanford University. He obtained his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in 2000.

Dr Harvey Jay Cohen is President of the International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG). He is also Director and Professor of Medicine at the Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development. He is Chief of the Division of Geriatric Medicine at Duke University Medical Center, Associate Chief of Staff for Geriatrics and Extended Care, and Director of the Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) of the Veterans Administration Medical Center in North Carolina. Dr Cohen serves on the advisory and review panels for a number of respected foundations.
